... but I have to pour some water in the wine.

First: i really like the general idea of the icons.

Certainly it is quite a task to make a icon from a logo that is stretched out so far... maybe they will realize that logos should be printable on small square spaces ;-)

Anyway: If you take out a part of the icons, it really needs to match the icon. And frankly, it just doesn't: The line endings are round instead of sharp cut, the position of the dot between the line is wrong and the gradient in the background doesn't help either to recognize the icon. On it's own, it's a weak symbol for so many reasons I won't start to list them.

In a word: It just don't work as an icon.

To be clear: I appreciate that you did it and took this open task. However, this isn't done yet.

Cheers

Kabe

Pietro -
For those of us who do not know how to prepare an icon for use in Windows, can you show us how to do it and where to put the icon so that Maxwell can use it?

For make and install icon there is a lot of shareware...
go at versiontracker.com and type in the shearch box the keyword icon

Look also here (need photoshop):
http://www.iconfactory.com/iconbuilder.asp

On versiontracker you can find some applications to convert MacOSX icon tho window .ico but the results are not so good: MacOSX support 32 bit icons windows work with 16 bit icons.

PETER

P.S: to make the icons on MacOSX I use Iconographer X 2.5 - 32 bit icon & resource editor, reads PC & OS X icons too
