Just for the interest of it, how many of you are waiting for Maxwell linux 1.x?
I just want to see the size of that market

I for one bought Maxwell only for the linux support

I use both Windows and Linux. I would prefer to use Maxwell in Linux. I am not using Maxwell much at all right now. Hopefully, there will be an update with a workable material system that is available for Linux.

I am waiting too and Linux is my main os. At the moment i am using maxwell under windows, but this is bad because i have to switch the os only for maxwell. As a result of this, i have got my first windows worm a few days ago.

I hope the Linux port will get first priority when the main features are back in the windows and mac version.

I can have access to a four xeon linux box. So, obviously, when I get my plusone (still waiting for it), I'll be interested in a linux version of Maxwell.

I use Windows for my primary modelling machine, but I'd like to eventually get a quad or octet dual core opteron system running Linux to do the actual rendering of the MXS files.

Even if I don't get a monster system, I now have 10 licenses (40 cores) of M~R. I would eventually like to set up a rendering farm (either X2's or core duos) running linux as well. However, I'm not going to toss down any money on new systems until a working linux version of M~R is released.

Another one here.

I switched my main machine to Ubuntu Linux a while back, and now have no Windows machines at all. I have a couple of low-spec Macs, but nothing useful for rendering. I also have several other Linux boxen waiting to build a small render farm.

This means it will have to sit on the side until they release the Linux version. :(

I have Windows at work and Mac at home. I have been waiting for the Linux version for render slaves. I do not care about studio or mxed, all I need is to be able to run mxcl -server at the command line and I am set!

My company owns 8 licenses of M~R. If I understand it correctly this means I can render on 32 cores at once (4 per license) right? I can build a nice render farm but there is no way I want to deal with installing and maintaining Win XP on that many machines.

V1.1 Linux would be very nice.

Thanks,

D
