Hi NL,
After all our complaints, it finally seems to work for Mac.
I downloaded thanks to the tip of using speed download and....
textures work, no more black
rendertime increased
images look promising (at least 100 times better than during Beta or RC)
but I am still testing.
Hope, we can all become good friends again and the heated atmosphere eases towards more subject oriented topics.

I would agree with most, but I can't get my emitters to function properly, or a least the way the use to. Real faint and underpowered. Anyone else?

yes Jake, same thing here.
even after setting them at 3000 Watts, nothing.
I see the sphere, but it seems as if it wont give illumination (know what I mean)

Try turning up the efficiency to 500. Mike V. recommended that in another thread. I get light but it certainly isn't working the way it use to work. I must be doing something wrong.

I'm within Cinema 4D
How can I work around there?
No efficieny in the plug in?

Well, you could make an emitter material with Studio, export it and then map it to your object in C4D. It's the long way I know.

true, that's what I'll do.
I'm not used to working in studio. It will be a good practice
cheers Jake

Emitters work well in studio here. When I export from formZ, they are having some problems (render black or don't emitt light). But once I apply some of the Maxwell preset emitters and alter them a bit, it works very well.
Also seems to work now with adding basic layer to emitters.
I am happy so far...
Only one thing I encountered, that the plug-in for formZ is not so reliable, sometimes it sets all the attenuation distance to 999 m for all materials during export (once there is a dialectic object somewhere in the file). Need to correct in Studio then. But no big deal compared to the problems in Beta and RC.
Haven't tried complex forms yet, but an architectural setup with a few lights, mostly textures and dialectics works fine.
I am quite confident, that this time I will have some results, which can be used...

My emittters starting working after a restart. Working better I should say. I don't know what the problem was but it seems better now.

Hi Jake,
Here the same. When I use more than 1 emitter it renders black. Once I restart or double click on the file, it works fine.
For non physical sky scenes, I set the ISO to higher level. But you were right before. Lighting setup seems strange compared to beta/rc. Will test some more and report.
Update:
Clipmaps work also, but it would be great if maxwell could use alphachannel as in formZ (maybe it does but I don't know how). When I export a formZ alphachannel clipmap, it does something completely different in maxwell. Is either upside down or different scale (other than "normal" textures).
Update2:
Clipmaps behave unpredictable. More than one and Maxwell won't launch.
Some render, some don't. Didn't find a solution yet. Any success for others?

I'm having difficulties with the emitters as well. Jake are you using the emitters from studio? Can someone point me to a way to get the emitters to work from within the sketchup plugin? Thanks.

cheffey,
As I recall, the way I got them to work best in SkecthUp is to make an emitter with the material editor, export as an mxm, then use the 'set mxm' in SketchUp. The normal routine didn't seem to work as well. Way underpowered.
Also try the presets in the 'jomaga' folder in the materials in the 'A Team'.
Sorry I couldn't give you better answers Cheffey. I kinda of dropped Maxwell for a while. Just too big a hassle.
Make sure you find the maxwellcontext.rb. It moves things alsong much faster.
