Hi everybody.
I am trying to load a 3ds or dxf file into Maxwell Studio. But it does absolutely nothing. No file, no nothing. Am I doing something wrong or is the Mac Version of Maxwell Studio still too buggy and needs fixing?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Carsten

Yes absolutely. But I still acn not load the files. Once i was able to load a sphere i made in rhino . but when it showed in maxwell studio the whole screen was plastered with triangles and I was not able to see the whole object , just wired lines everywhere. Even zooming on the selected object didn't help.

Don't know what to do!

one of the few success storys importing files into studio on macs was using modo and exporting as OBJ's - try to search in the forums about that. i did tests by myself, but found out that the modo output was not always reliable, too. maybe one point could be that studio seems to like tripled single mesh files only - very picky

I've found that triangulated (tripled :D ) obj files from LightWave won't work in studio but opening them in Cinema and resaving fixes that. Maybe there's an export preference I'm missing? Haven't tried any other programs yet.

Thanks for your tips

the only way it was working for me, was to use the cinema plugin.
open your file in cinema and hit the render button of the maxwell interface.
after that a maxwell file will be writen and opend in the maxwell renderengine. quit the rendering in cinema and open the maxwell file. do not doubleclick !!! open maxwellstudio and load the scene. ... it took ages to figure this out - hope it this will help ... maybe this will work also with other plugins this way ... good luck and do not waste time trying to get technical support from nextlimt !!!
