Hiya people, I havent used linux in a while, so i'm pretty rusty, first off ubuntu hardy 8.04 uses glibc-sourse 2.7-10ubuntu3, I downloaded the glibc 2.5 maxwell archive, not sure if this is the problem, or how much trouble i would get into if i uninstalled those libraries..
I actually rtfm, but i'm getting into trouble: I have the maxwell root
(I installed it to /opt/maxwell64) for simplicity sake.

morgs@morgs-desktop:~$ echo $PATH
”/opt/maxwell64/:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games”
So I have the maxwell_root which means i should be able to type
"./startmxst" to start studio,
"./startmxcl" to start maxwell command line,
"./startmxed" to start the material editor

i get:

morgs@morgs-desktop:~$ ./startmxst
bash: ./startmxst: No such file or directory
morgs@morgs-desktop:~$ ./startmxcl
bash: ./startmxcl: No such file or directory
morgs@morgs-desktop:~$ ./startmxed
bash: ./startmxed: No such file or directory

If I nav to the install dir and do the same:
./startmxst starts maxwell, but i get some errors:

The material preview scene cannot be found
he material preview scene cannot be loaded
only the 3d viewport loads, i can't open or change a layout, i guess this has to do with my glibc version

License file is invalid!

I copied my license file from my windows installation, not sure if this is a permissions thing or what, is it a problem reverting a linux installation to an older version of glibc?
