-1.maxwell does not support group, object names from SU, at least this is my experience.
-2.you can change your view without moving the camera position, read the manual carefully. I don't remember right here how to do this but I can, somehow its by using right or left click and pressing alt or shift. Its in the manual.
-3.you can change from shaded view to textured view etc. tried that ?
-4. have no answer on that one.
