Don the 2005 is not available because there was no camera in sw 2005. This pretty much made Maxwell useless with 05. With SW 2006 which will be a full release any day now, a camera was included by the SW developers. Maxwell uses the camera settings in 06 and works. I believe some people were using the 06 beta and getting renders out of maxwell this way.
I don't think next limit is going to add a camera support for 05. In short Maxwell Solidworks Plug-in only works on 06. If you plan on using sw 2005 you will have to export your scene to the Maxwell standalone, which will be out this fall.
So can I use Solid works 2005???

Hi martgreg,
Unfortunately you can not use SW 2005. The changes in 2006 version are huge and it allows the integration of Maxwell in SW. Due to internal aspects of SW and Maxwell, it was impossible to achieve with previous versions.

My guess: The standalone will read only Maxwell format files, with those files generated by the various plugins. This means the only way to get SXW2005 files in is via SXW2006.
Maybe they will be able to import std formats like ACIS or ParaSolid, who knows? It seems pointless to ask NL Team any questions about the release at the moment, we'll propable just have to wait and see whats in the release when they finally manage to get something out of the door.
