Is the latest plugin useable?

Before I start playing with 1.5 and the new plugin, I would like to know if it useable?
I've read quite a few of the latest posts, most seem negative in that there seems to be a lot of CTD's. Is anyone actually able to render?

John - you may be one of the lucky ones that it loads onto OK. You will never know until you try

If not then you will just have to wait - Juan is working on it at the moment.
But it will do part files. It just seems to crash my machine if I try to load an assembly.

There is no harm done to your machine if it fails to load correctly. Are you on sp3.1? If so - that is not good. :D .

What I've seen of the Studio - it looks easier to use, but have not really tried it much.

Cheers Jonathan, I'll give it a go at the weekend. I'm on SP3.1 --- SP4.0 is in EV, so we should see the release version SP4.0 in the next week or so.

Don't suppose you know how to get rid of the old 2006 maxwell plugin? I've tried to remove it before but it always stays in the addin list (unchecked of course).

Hi John,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\AddIns\

find the one that says maxwell 2006 inside and delete it.

Note: backup registry first if your paranoid :)
Also, no warranty expressed or implied :)
