Anyone dared yet to use Sw2007 - does the existing plugin work with it or do we await the sw2007 Maxwell plugin?
Thinking of installing Sw2007 or my spare machine which runs windows xp.

To answer my own question
Installed sw2007 and all went well - not quite sure what the 'validation' procedure is meant to beand all the hype before sw2007 release - I thought sw2007 was the year we were liberated from the dongle - but not in my case. Apart from the hassle of trying to access the subsciption part of the website and my XP refusal to accept the SW install --- so I manually downloaded the SW2007 file - be warned 650 MB - yes 650 MB - are they taking the piss? I am sure it was only 100Mb last year and in the past it used to be 30 MB or there abouts .
Anyway it all loaded fine as a clean install along side sw2006 and Maxwell was waiting for me when I opened my first part. Just like a faithful dog.
First thing I notice is that to select a part in SW2007 you can't just click it - you only get the surface. I have to investigate this but in Maxwell I could not select a part to assign a material , but had to toggle on the Solidbody and it worked fine.
PW seems to have undergone some sort of face lift, but I just got confused and left pretty quick.
Anyway - it all looks fine for the moment. Jump in - no sharks in the pool, none that I can se.......................................

It works, you just have to be aware of some things. It crashes every second time you export, so I just keep the plugin unloaded, load it to export the MXS, then unload it again. And always save the model before starting the plugin.

I've been using SW2007sp1.0 with Maxwell 1.1 and it's been working with the exception of one bug. I have to make sure that when I launch SW I do not have MW automatically loaded as an add in. I can open my SW file, then load the addin and it works fine. If SW auto loads the addin at starup, when I execute the maxwellpm it freezes up on me and I have to Control Alt Del out of it.
Other than that I would recommend running it.

jjs - my download of sw2007 (before I got the discs) was 1.4gb (premium version). I don't think it's been 30mb for a long time.............
In any case on my trusty cable modem I download it in around 17 minutes. My cable connection (even though I live in the country) downloads between 1.7 MB/s to 2.1 MB/s. I love that
I've been using 2007 in production since sept. and while there are some bugs it's getting smoother now (sp2.0ev). I've already designed over a dozen parts including full tooling since then so I've definately put it through the wringer.
