Sub Surface Noise / Dark Dots

Hi

I can't find a way to stop these dark dots when I use a material with Sub Surface scattering. This is THE SIMPLEST SCENE. One light, one object. The SS material is derived from Maxwell´s Material Assistants.

I stripped the scene back to make is as simple as possible but I cannot fix this fault.

I wondered what would happen if Ieft to render to SL30. So I isolated a small area and let it render - guess what - STILL DOTS!

Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I have tried everything (I think)!

I recommend to watch this - http://www.maxwellzone.com/shop/demystifying-sss/

Then you should understand better how SSS concept works in Maxwell.

About your problem with black dots, you should avoid high values of saturation and brightness in color chips (Transmittance/Scattering).

Yes - that works - reducing the saturation and brightness of those colour chips removed them. Thank you

http://www.maxwellzone.com/shop/demystifying-sss/ looks good.

I do think Next Limit should produce suitable user manuals for these basics.
