grid of black squares in render? BUG?

Hi everyone,
So Im getting a new bug that I've not seen before. It's not repeatable on any machine or any setup. When I work on a local workstation and launch a local render I have only see it happen once. However, I have had the effect show up on a "clean" frame after a resume. The interesting part is that after the image resumed, it actually became noisier and some of the shadows changed. The MXI files are 1.37 GB per frame (I am using multi-light, color+intensity), so part of me thinks there is a network error reading and writing 800, 1.37GB frames. However, I still can't imagine that would cause this error.

anyone else ever see this?

Multilight with color and intensity has been known to produce black spots in rendering when there is also some kind of SSS material present in the scene. Resorting to intensity multilight might fix this.
If this does not fix this, it could be that you have found the hidden braille function in Maxwell. ;)
