custom alphas problem?

Hi,
I make a few custom alpha channels and apply the objects to the channels. Only the first channel in the list renders the alpha to the desired SL. The ones after that stop at the 2 SL set for the base render and not the desired custom alpha SL. MR 3.1.0.

This seems correct to me. It will only render the area to the higher SL you specify by that alpha channel. Everything else in the scene will only reach SL 2, including any other alphas.

In my case, I am only needing the custom alphas, not the extra sampling of a specific piece of the render. I just need the alphas for isolating parts of the render in PS for color correction. I believe I saw a video where the author loaded many custom alpha channels and they all rendered at once to a desired SL. It was a demonstration of custom alphas and the model was an espresso machine.

I think maybe I have to render out the custom alphas with the rendering to get them all out at once to the final SL. It would be nice to have an option, separate from extra sampling, just to jam out multiple custom alphas after the final rendering has been completed
