Issues with caustics

I'm having a fair bit of troubles with caustics, even when direct and indirect are turned off, like in this image. The horse is displaced, the blob (a test stand-in for the actual object) is a preset silicone gel with only color changed.

This is only rendered to SL 13, but the problem intensifies all the way to 22, where I threw a dinner plate at the wall.

Forgot to describe the lighting: 4 standard 1-polygon emitters and sky (the last one is turned down to 0 though).

If you haven't converted the material yet to advanced mode, try unchecking the "Invert hue" parameter as this can get an exaggerated effect especially if you raise the Vibrance and can lead to that inverted hue caustics. In general with the Translucent wizard be careful with raising the vibrance.

Please post a screenshot of your settings if you want.

Thanks for the reply Mihai. Unchecking the "Invert hue" did the trick!
