Hello!
Clean Win Home Premium x64
V3.2 Runs with Demo licence
Just after adding active licence the activator and Maxwel Render crashes with error:
v120-intel
Code: Select all
Faulting application name: maxwell.exe, version: 3.2.0.0, time stamp: 0x560d10fa
Faulting module name: mxcommon_64.dll, version: 3.2.0.0, time stamp: 0x560d10df

Tried reinstalling windows, maxwell, C++ libraries.
Tried manualy adding maxwell_license.lic, same thing
With Demo maxwell_license.lic everything runs smooth.
Where is the catch?

Looks like activation is working Ok, but some process checking for activation fails.
Running as administrator.. the same
no antivirus or firewall
Tried using mxcommon_64.dll from different year libraries... same glitch
Tried Beta 3.2.0.2 - the same
Tried 3.1.9 - some other errors but still no application launch
In Documents Maxwell log folder - empty

License node-locked to host

i7/8GB/Nvidia GTX 660Ti

Any idea welcome!

Hi,

we have noticed that in some Windows 7 versions maxwell crashes when Windows is not at least updated to Service Pack 1 level. Could this be the case?

Regards.
Miguel.

Hi Richards!

Could you let me know which version of Windows did you install? Vista or 7?

Sometimes is important to get the Service Packs and updates available from Microsoft. I'm going to make some test to see if we can reproduce the problem here.

Regards,

Fernando

Hello!

Windows 7 (sorry forgot to write the number) x64 Home Premium
Maxwell Render does not run without and with updates.

Right now machine is updated to maximum what Microsoft offers.

Something with the license that program downloads or i manually download.
Can You check how does this license work on You test setup?

Hi Rihards,

Just wanted to give a little update.

At first I couldn't reproduce your problem. Tested on Windows 7 Pro and Home and everything seemed to be working fine.
Then I tried with your license information and then it happened. The license file written by the activator is not looking good at all and makes Maxwell crash instantly.

We are looking why is this happening and are going to give you a solution as soon as possible.

I'll keep you updated.

Best,

Fernando

Hi again Rihards,

Could you go to C:\ProgramData\Next Limit\Maxwell\licenses and delete all the .lic files?

Then, please make another attempt to activate your license. It should work now.

Sadly, all this mess had to do with some quotation marks that appeared in your business name.

We'll try to fix this so it doesn't bother any more.

Let me know if it doesn't solve the problem.

Regards,

Fernando

Perfect!

Add some safe guard to the licence fields ;)
