Strange reflections/refractions in liquid.

Hi community! I'm battling some strange reflections in a bottle with liquid i'm working on.

1. At first I thought there was some intersecting of the bottle and liquid gone wrong, but it seems they are there even when the bottle is omitted.
2. Then I blamed the lighting/environment, but the remain even If I switch to Sky dome + sun or something completely different.
3. I've looked throught the geometry, and made sure everything seems welded and such. Shouldn't be a phong issue either. No vertex normals are used.

Anyone got an idea for further troubleshooting? Or maybe they are just the way things are supposed to look. Does look strange though.

Here are the scene files and renders: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/r63r8ljzk0g3 ... ZUjXa?dl=0

Best regards

no time to test right now, but an image search for 'apple juice bottle' shows similar dark bands on horizontal grooves.

Yes it might be just the way things look, you're right.

try with other hdri for refraction

test with offset 180 in refraction

Thanks for having a look Seghier, I really appreciate it. So perhaps it is the lighting then, I'll have to try something else!

Make a hole in the backdrop, below the bottle, and put an emitter there, so it shines through the bottle from below. Might make it more interesting to have bright refractions than those dark bands...

That's an interesting approach! I'll give it a go later today.
