Custom alpha inside of a mxs reference

Hello

Is it possible to use custom alpha channels via a mxs reference?
For example: For animations, I usually replace the whole scene with an mxs reference of it, so each frame mxs is rather small and the whole scene referenced in it.
I did not find a way to make custom alphas (either via materials or objects) work in that scenario.
Is that possible?
The other issue is with the object ID mask, which also considers the whole scene as one object then ...

Is there any way around this?

Thanks for any help.
Best,
Kami

this impossible
you can save copy of your scene have mxs reference only and than replace these reference by original objects ; than you render only the mask you need
but for animation i don't think it work ; maybe a script can solve this problem

that is a pity! mxs references are such a strong tool, and so are custom alphas.
I hope that in one of the future versions this will be possible.
