Laser beam

Good day, I'm curious, is it possible to create light beam caustic in Maxwell?

I mean this kind of image:

When I try to make a beam light in Maxwell with plane, I fail because this light is always try to spread around. Ok, lets make a tinny whole in blocking plane in front of this light. I assume that it's closer to what I need but I can't see the beam of light regardless of it intensity. I can see only reflection of light from the surface in front of it. Ok, looks like we need a volume for the light. Im adding big box and put my light source, plane with tinny whole and reflective surface inside of this box. Adding material like sss and... no beam.

Please, advice, how to get image like above or bellow:

Also, here:

I saw an interesting example:

which I never could to reproduce by myself.

The question is: is it correct? I mean shouldn't we see the light in the air between crystal and surface like here:

Here the video which was made with another render.

you want to see the light or the effect of caustics ?
you can try with spot light and use volumetric

Good day!

Thanks for your example. Have no luck to reproduce it in Max... Looks like some kind of problem with spot light in plugin. I'll let you know later about whether it what I'm looking for.

If it was possible in 2008, it is certainly possible today.
