Changing license server

Hi all,

I just upgraded to V3 and have installed the license server on my main workstation. After setting up my farm and re-jigging the network I now think it would now be better if I set my file server up as the license server so I can access studio from my other workstation without having my main one on. Is it possible to reactivate Maxwell on a new server and remove the old license? I don't want to try it and have my key banned.

Cheers.

Nick

Hi Nick,

You should remove the .lic file from Maxwell license from your workstation to avoid any conflict; it should be here:

On Windows: C:\ProgramData\Next Limit\Maxwell\licenses (hidden by default; you can unhide it from windows explorer options)
On OSX: /Users/Shared/NextLimit/rlm_nl/licenses
On Linux: $HOME/Maxwell

When activating the license on the new server, if you get any message about exceeding the maximum number of activations just get in contact with us to solve it. It should be fast.
