Camera Matching | Importing Cameras

Hi guys,

Just wondering, how would you go about matching Maxwell's camera to a photography plate (backdrop)?

Is there a way to load a photo into the viewport to use as a backplate? If not, then is there a way to import a camera from say Modo into Maxwell?

Thanks in advance.

If you already work in Modo, why not just use Modo for the matching and when done, use the Maxwell plugin to send to Maxwell?

Hi Mihai,

Yeah I was thinking of doing that, but here's what happened:

- I spent a lot of time in Maxwell setting up a scene, materials, lighting and all. They were imported via obj to Maxwell.

- Then I decided I needed to match the camera to a photography plate later on. Maxwell doesn't seem to have any background image (no HDRI globe) support.

- But I can easily match it in Modo. Problem is getting the camera across to my OLD maxwell scene, without reexporting everything from modo (the contents of the scene are way outdated) back into Maxwell.

export a cube or simple object with the camera and import it in your scene ; you will get the camera than remove the new object imported
