Maxwell Studio 360 animations?

Referring to: http://blog.maxwellrender.com/news/v3-1 ... he-corner/

I was asking myself the following questions, could Maxwell Studio also read the Alembic animation info then? And will Maxwell Sea be animated?

We have Rhino users who like to make 360 animations from our products, ships. So adding a Maxwell Sea and some animated objects through Alembic, like rotating radars, and billowing flags would make Maxwell Render as their main visualisation app besides Rhino a perfect match. This 360 with some extra movement is just what they are looking for. Extended animations are made by another department who will use their "Maxwell" models.

Well?

This could be something that can get added in the future (ability to read the frames of an alembic or advance the time value for the MaxwellSea). For the 3.1 release I don't think this will be possible. Although it seems a very doable thing for the near future.

Hi Seghier,

I saw the video, he's certainly doing a great job. Fire in Blender Whooo 8)

The "problem" is we don't want to have too many tools for our ship designers. They work with Rhino now and probably start to use the Maxwell plugin for initial Artist Impressions (Stills). If they want to make a simple 360 animation, they can do that with the Studio V3.1 later on, but still stay in the familiar Maxwell Suite.
Complexer animations will be done by another department, (that's us :D ) and yes we are fond of Blender and hope the plugin will mature enough to do our work with

Reading: http://support.nextlimit.com/display/mx ... ic+support gave me the thought of using Alembic animation information in the Studio.

Cheers
