Upgrading one's render nodes in 2014

Judging from Blender and Cinebench tests, it looks like the Intel Core i7-5820K hits the sweet spot of price/speed for upgrading one's i7-2600K or i7-3930K render nodes - €810 for a CPU/mainboard/16GB RAM bundle seems a good deal.

yes, for the 2600K - upgrading the 3930K will be not such a great deal i think. I will upgrade my 2600K/2700K nodes to 5820K within the next months ...but with 32GB when DDR4 prices are lowering - 16GB is not enough for me.
(but DDR3 prices are very still high, so i think i can sell their RAM for 30-50% more than what i payed in 2012)

And i will upgrade my workstation with a (watercooled) 5960X, M.2 NVMe SSD and GTX 960 4GB in october or november :mrgreen:

I was planning to get a GTX 980 8GB after watching the GPU-Maxwell video, but now it seems that i don't need it...
