Wireframe procedural problem.

Hi,

I'm not getting the expected result with Wireframe procedural. Is this what it is supposed to do? Is it a bug?

This is quite a big object for a big scene, around 400m, so wireframe width is also big. These are procedural settings:

It might be a bit confusing. I'll explain it further: I'm using the wireframe texture as layer mask for a black layer over a white plastic, so what's white in procedural should display as black lines. What is really bothering me is that bunch of spikes and bevels.

Edit for moderators: Sorry, I should have posted this into the bugs forum. For some reason I didn't see it when I created the thread. Please move it if you want.

I see it has something to do with the wireframe arrangement but it's quite awful.

Even with coplanar edges with the same color and width the result is... questionable:

I think it's odd how it doubles the width of some edges but not all (I've checked if there are any double vertex there, but there are not)

I don't think it works very well if you want the lines to be so thick, but could you send me that scene/object for testing?

Sure, where should I send it? It's just a simple shape extruded. Have you noticed some edges don't show at all? That's odd.

I uploaded the scene here:

3dsmax 2014, mxs, and mxm files.

Hi Mihai,

Maybe you overlooked this thread, as it is placed in the wrong section. Sorry about that.

Did you find the time to take a look at this problem?

Yes, I haven't found a reason why in this case the edges are "hidden" by the inner edges at the junctions.... I tried with a cube and that looks fine, the inner edges don't take away anything from the outer edges. I will pass this on to Juan but they are at Siggraph at the moment and he probably won't have time to look at this for a while.
