question about angle maps for grass

I know it's v.3 board and I use 2 but it's probably quite the same. I cannot get the angle map thingy to work. whatever I try - the result is squashed grass. is there a nice resource of ready maps - or maybe a better example than the circular-cut one in the tutorial? thanks !

Post your angle map and your complete grass settings.

this is my best try.... settings are what I get when applying grass modifier. maybe a bit higher density (5000).
I also used an angle map I found somewhere in the forum but it's good for carpets...

I can't say I get very squashed grass using that angle map. Using default settings and your map:
Redo it with a fresh grass modifier. Maybe you changed a setting and forgot about it.
If you still have problems, the usual recommended debug steps apply (checking in Studio that is):
1. Open your MXS in Studio and render from there to check.
2. Create a fresh grass modifer on an object in Studio using the map and check.

well it really depends on the planar projection I use on the grass plane polygon.
I got some what better results but I think that it will be nice addition to have a few examples for download at the MXM gallery site...
y'know, a nice angle map+density map with real size dimensions ...

How do you mean? If the projection isn't flat with the surface itself, yes might not get the expected results of course.
You have some examples in the tutorials page in the docs along with material sample file:

What more do you want??

I meant the size of planar projection. you need a really big texture to avoid what happened in my example...
