how to align the hdr sun exactly to the sky sun?

hey there!

Is there a trick to align the hdri sun exactly to the sky sun? or it is like i did, a tough approximation?

There is no automatic way of doing it but, if I were you I'd render a stick perpendicular to the ground and try to match it with Angles (Zenith/Azimuth) sun positioning method.

In the c4d plug there is a sun indicator, I assume other plugs are the same. Lining up the sun is quite easy, just view the (enlarged) indicator line from its origin while looking towards the hdr sun (actually an 8bit version of the hdri is used for lining up so that you can see the sun disc).

However in c4d its not possible to render sun + hdri at the same time.
