a general question about final images

hi all, this is a question for pro users... many of the images I render (I use v.2 but I don't think it matters here) lack some sharpness.
However trying to use "sharpen" in Photoshop causes some noise to be more obvious.
Is there a good workflow/plugin to get good, crisp contours without having the noise pop back into the image ...?

did you try the "sharpness" setting? it controls the aliasing, so it should make your image sharper without making it noisier. it's under tonemapping in the .mxi setting

Are you using too-shallow DOF? Are you not letting the image render long enough?
I never have a problem with images not being "sharp" enough. Can you post examples?

When you compare images from other render engines, the contours of wall (I'm speaking interiors now...) are very clear and crisp.
Maxwell's are a bit vague.
Anyway I've found a good editorial about using PS high-pass and it does the trick quite good.

I set my sharpness to 80,00 and blur in post if too sharp. You're better off start rendering sharper than reconstruction the sharpness.
