Hello,

Have been running V3 without issue. The other day I saved-as a .mxs in studio and did an overwrite of an existing file of the same name. The file was saved but studio left a "loading" dialogue box open that I could not close. I thought studio crashed so I force quit. Now when I open a .mxs I get that same empty "loading" window. I do not get it if I create a new studio file. It is not the file, as my install on my laptop works fine with the same files. It does no harm, just gets in the way and cannot be closed. My normal workflow is to model in Solidworks, then export .mxs, and then setup in studio.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Maxwell, but it still shows up.

Any ideas?

same problem here ever since upgrading to 3.0 and till is there in 3.0.1.

Check this folder: C:\Users\<current user>\Documents\Maxwell

Try deleting any .ini, .stlay, .lyt files you find there and try starting Studio again.

I forgot which path it is exactly for OSX, but search for .stlay files and you'll find the folder.

Hey, that seems to have worked! Thank a million, that was an annoying little problem.

gah! It worked for a while but then it started happening again. Any clue about why it would've happened again after your suggestion fixed it? Do you think it's an issue with something going on with my computer or something with maxwell?

And if you repeat the process?

Did Studio crash at one point? The symptoms you and designer-made describe have to do with these layout and ini files getting corruped.

Thanks for the replies. I just tried clearing that directory and updated to 3.01. I still get the hanging "loading" box. Any other ideas?

I'm really not sure.....you're on Win or OSX? Did you make sure Maxwell/Studio were closed before clearing those files?
