Net Render 3.0.0.2 + remote dependencies is bullet proof

This is the first setup we've had that I can say is stable without hesitation. Our magic combo seems to be the beta 3.0.0.2 build, plus NOT "sending dependencies" and instead hosting them at a network location.

We're able to freely add, subtract, re-add, re-subtract nodes, and can stop jobs cleanly. This is a first for us. And "remove node after finishing current frame" is a nice touch.

It's a relief, thanks for the effort. Not sure if it's thanks to v3 or specifically v3.0.0.2

Were you having problems adding and removing nodes to a job earlier? I thought that just wasn't a feature, if I add a render node in the middle of a job, it does nothing. But maybe I am doing it wrong... Can you just start them up or do you have to right click and add the job to it independently?

good luck

The intent is that you can add and remove nodes from a job on-the-fly. This feature never worked for us, during v2 at least. It would either do nothing, or try to add the node and fail repeatedly. Now it works without a problem.

I just dove into it a little further. Mine would disconnect sometimes for no reason, but it just happened, then I realized I needed to right lick on the job name and add a node and not on the actual node itself to add another one. Working fine on my end, I am also upgraded to the 3.0.0.3 beta.

Also, I've found that if a node ever gets "stuck", I can click on the frame it's rendering, and release that node. Then, click the job name, add node, and specifically add that node; not just "Add any available node." This "un-sticks" the node.

Something like this?

That's kind of odd for a workflow.

Sorry for the OT, couldn't resist.

Fernando that would not be an example of a "right lick," in fact it's a "wrong lick."
