Can't add any jod on the Maxwell Network Monitor

Hello,

I saw that the topic has already been created with a similar title.
But I think we have a different problem. We can not to submit nothing to Network manager.
After submission dialog nothing happens. Just empty Maxwell Network Monitor.
Same thing at single or cooperative jobs.

Hi Proxell,

Which operative system are you running in both the monitor and the manager?

Thanks,

Hi proxell,

We have been doing tests for a few hours but still cannot reproduce this issue. I have a few questions:

1- Could you please check the render node does not print any license warning at the beginning? In the console, above anything else, it should say something like:
Code: Select all
[13/December/2013 13:29:06] Floating license checked out from server : localhost
[13/December/2013 13:29:06] Found valid floating license
[13/December/2013 13:29:06] License name: XXXX
[13/December/2013 13:29:06] Company: XXXX
[13/December/2013 13:29:06] Expiration date: permanent
[13/December/2013 13:29:06] Issued by: NEXTLIMIT
Can you confirm you see something similar?

2- Every time you try to add a job you see the "### Submitting job...###" message in the monitor right? Do you see any message in the manager and nodes immediately after that?

3- Does it happen even when you have just one single node in the network?

4- Could you please send us the logs (menu->file->save log) of monitor, manager and node?

Thanks!

Juan

Hey, juan

1- Could you please check the render node does not print any license warning at the beginning? In the console, above anything else, it should say something like:

Here it is.. Everithing is OK, it seems...

2- Every time you try to add a job you see the "### Submitting job...###" message in the monitor right? Do you see any message in the manager and nodes immediately after that?

No we have not.

3- Does it happen even when you have just one single node in the network?
Yes, no matter one either several, with local path to our scene or network

4- Could you please send us the logs (menu->file->save log) of monitor, manager and node?
We've allready sent you through the Next Limit customer gateway.
But we can do it one more time:

Hi proxell,

Thank you very much.

Yes, it seems all is good, thanks for the capture.

I am sorry it is not enough with the screenshots of the console but we would need the log file (menu/file/save log) because is does not only saves the console output but much more information, which could give us a clue on what is going on. I have checked the mails received at the customer gateway and i just have found a log of the monitor, not a log of the manager nor the node, that would be great to diagnose what is going on.

Thanks!

Juan

Thanks, we have all the info we need now. As we already suspected the problem seems to happen because the monitor and the rendernode are strangely disconnected from time to time. We are double checking what could be causing this issue, meanwhile please check if you have a firewall running on these machines that might be interrupting the network connection between them. We will go back to you as soon as possible, hopefully in very few hours.

Ok, thanks juan
About firewall — we've checked with it, with created rule for maxwell, and without, withing switched off firewall and result was the same.
No job submitted.

Hi all,

This is what we are replying by email to the people getting this issue:

We still cannot reproduce your issue. However reviewing your logs we have seen a pattern that disconnections that has given us a clue. We have just uploaded a mxnetwork.exe app here. (for windows 64, please let us know if you need other platforms):

http://goo.gl/6uG5yw

Please override the mxnetwork.exe file of your installation folder in all the machines where Maxwell is installed. After that restart the network in one manager, one monitor and one rendernode and make some basic tests with very simple scenes (the cornell.mxs scene included in the installation is very appropriate because it is small and does not have any dependency, it is located in C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell 3\library\scenes)

If the problem persists please send us the log files again. I am very sorry for the inconveniences, we will continue giving this issue maximum priority until it is fixed.

Kind regards,

Juan

Hi, juan

We've try this one a second ago and nothing. Same thing. Not working.

[17/December/2013 15:47:12] Manager found!
[17/December/2013 15:47:12] Monitor connection to Manager via TCP...
[17/December/2013 15:47:12] TCP socket to manager connected!
[17/December/2013 15:47:28] ### Submitting job...###

But with cornel.mxs it seems everything is ok... cornel.msx file was submited and rendered.

If submit simball.mxs from the same destination the same thing happens.
[17/December/2013 16:07:01] ### Submitting job...###

We've created the simple scene with only default cube and evnvironment default lightning without any dependency — the same thing ### Submitting job...### and nothing.
