V3 test

in this test i use grass with two side materials ; displacement ; at sl = 10 / render time 1h14 m give better result and more speed than v 2.7

That's great, it adds just that extra little bit of richness to the image :-)

The thing I was hoping to see though, is a more distinct sense of light rays emanating from the projector. I've tried to get the strong rays myself but I just cant seem to do it without flooding my scene with a heavy fog.

Even the classroom scene further up in this thread looks like the students would be suffering from a touch of carbon monoxide poisoning :-)

for create rays you can try other technic (like in real life)
you use small glass spheres to give a direction to the light ( and use the great feature block emitters )
