Have you tried pretesselated mode? It looks like it doesn't have enough triangles for displacement.

I mean to use pretesselated mode in displacement component, in the material.
You could increase subdivision parameter with "on the fly" mode or try pretesselated mode.
Either way, it's clear you need more subdivisions which you can get through the displacement component in the material.

Adaptive or 64 ... 128 etc ...

If you have your displacement applied to a simple two-triangle plane, don't select "Adaptive". Select "Pretessellated" and then set "Subdivision" to a high figure, 512, 2048 or whatever, until the displacement looks good.
