Light through dielectric

Dear Group
How does one get light to emit through a dielectric (glass) windows.?Maybe this question has been asked before. While using the Rhino plugin, I can see through glass skylights and windows but no direct light is coming through when using the physical sky. When I remove the glass, only then does direct light enter the room. Has anyone else experieced this problem?

Hi,
There are some issues currently with Maxwell and caustics+Physical sky, but I am not aware of an issue where environment light doesn't come through.
It could be a matter of thickness of the windows in your scene (check the scale) or the absorbance factor, or a matter of letting render a little longer.

... I have read, that you should better not use a big groundplane outside.

Hi Chris,
I'm pretty sure Rhinoll doesn't use or need a scale multiplier. Just make sure that your model is the correct size going by the units you are using. If your units are inches, make sure that say, a 30" wide door measures 30" and you should be fine.

finally, .......thank you Fran.
Well i'm proud to say that i always take not to use the proper measurements. ....i guess that's why i never noticed any problems associated with the matter.
thanks, C.
