1.If you change the render options during rendering , the render will change in the next sample level.
2.If you want glass to clear soon use a custom dielectric with Abbe values higher than 150.

Daniel,

1. Once make those adjustments in the "Render Options" it will affect the current render in progress (the main image will be updated in the next screen refress, which is about every 4min or so)

2. About dielectrics, the one thing you can try is to set the abbe at about 200.

Also, another thing to check is make sure you do not have materials (diffuse or plastics) with reflectance higher than 88%.

No, it will work just for the current render, if you were using animation (max,maya,etc...I can't tell you if it works with bongo because I haven't test it, but I'm afraid not for the moment) you could check the "Maintain these values" button to keep the same settings for the whole animation ( I haven't try these button neither, but I guess you should do it in the first frame :lol: )
