Have you tried using the default glass material? Especially the dielectric materials are based on real-world values.Eric1 wrote:Maxwells current material library is very basic..
Could anybody help me to find a propper:
1. Glass material
2. Car paint or simmilar
3. Is there any way to apply textures on a material?

For car-paint, try the plastic material. Heck you can even use the plastic material to simulate metals if you play with the color and specular values.
I think materials already have quite a bit of control. you just have to use a little imagination.
For example just by adjusting the ND and abbe values you can get dosens of different dielectric types and then you can adjust UV rougness for frosted glass.
