Le's say I've assigned a map to a channel but make changes to the original map...when I try to re-insert (update) the file it keeps bringing up the old (unchanged) file...is there an easy way to delete the original map without having to try to track down where Maxwell is storing that?

There would be two factors:

1. the bitmap that's cached by the plugin, used to make thumbnails and the texture preview
2. the bitmap that's cached by Rhino, used to show the texture in the viewport

Regarding (1), you can either use the command Maxwell_ClearCachedData to force the plugin to re-read the file, or if it is better for your workflow (i.e. you are editing maps alot externally) you can enable Check File Version in plugin options.

Regarding (2), you would use the Rhino command RefreshAllTextures.

Let me know if that takes care of things...

thx much JD...the checked "file version" did the trick for me.

I've decided to switch to (Rhino) v5 and am going to give it it try to do this (possibly year-long) project just in Rhino and Maxwell, eliminating C4D....so far so good :).
Will there be a Maxwell Render 6 ?
