Well, it looks from here like your ring is already a mesh, so really, there is nothing to control. It's too difficult to tell from a screenshot whether or not there are weird normals, or bad texture coordinates, etc. --
it is just too hard to say...so again, if you send me the model, I'll take a look.

I don't see anything wrong here - it renders fine. There is an Anisotropy map in the OroBlanco material (ANISOTROPIC.jpg) that I am missing though - try removing it to see if it is the cause.
