In the Rhino layers window, how do I remove a previously set material that
I have set for a layer?

Well, besides for deleting the material from your database, you really don't. I guess I wonder about the need to do so - apparently you want to go 'back' to rendering a certain layer with just the default material?

Well, actually I just thought it would be nice to be able to right click on that
and have a remove 'function'.
But even as you mentioned, removing the material from the DB, doesn't
remove it from the layer.
For me, not really a problem. I just drop the 'default' material back onto
the layer when I want to go back to "neutral" ..

You might be able to do something like that in V5, I seem to recall having heard - but for now, the right-click menu of Rhino's Layers tree offers me no way of hooking into it and adding my own items. Also...are you sure removing it from the db didn't remove it from the layer? Check your (non-cached) .mxs - I'm pretty sure it won't really be your deleted material.

You are right, the material 'acording to rhino', has changed back to 'basic'.
It just doesn't update the field, and always shows the last material applied
to the layer in that field, wether or not the db has been removed.
And I understand about the hooking.. maybe they'll let you play with that
in the future.
