error message : entry point not found

just updated rhino service release and maxwell...... cant open maxwell studio either directly or from with in rhino. Maxwell seems to be in rhino but it will not render or export files,
any help?

Sounds like you've got bits and pieces of different versions present. I would back up any materials, etc., I had in [ProgramFiles]\Next Limit, uninstall all Maxwell stuff, clean out the Next Limit folder, then reinstall fresh.
dumped all stuff and all is now working

one thing though.... get a box saying open gl VBOs not supported please uncheck in preferences. Is this a problem? which preferences.. maybe in rhino?

I think that's from MXST...go to Edit > Preferences > OpenGL and un-check the 'Vertex Buffers (OpenGL 1.5 required)' option.
