Bumped into this error message today, not sure has it been here that I just failed to notice it or not... However besides this, I have had another problem that maybe related.
I found that my scene manager / location settings & environment setting having bugs which were supposed to be fixed in 1.6.X, including strange location setting bug & mutiplied offset UV values. turned out that its not fixed on my 1.6.1

Does it mean I have a faulty 1.6.1 installation that still running as 1.5.x?

Thanks and best regards :D

Hi Jacky,

I think what you are seeing there is 1.6.1 loading up, and not finding a MAXWELL_ROOT environment variable, although I think you'd have alot more problems if that's really the case. I could tell better if you opened the Log Viewer and chose 'Send Email Report' from the right-click menu.

About the location issues, the fixed in 1.6.x means they will be fixed in an update which will be versioned 1.6.x, not that they are already fixed in 1.6.1, sorry if that wasn't clear. I'm not sure what I'm looking at with your OpenGL globe there, does it always look like that? How about if you resize the window?

Thanks,

JD

Hi JD,

I tried sending log text with the built-in command, but in case it couldn't go thru, I also took screenshots.

Second pic pop up a while after I tried sending the report via email.
The Chinese text mean "Unidentifiable command. Server response is: " :P

For the buggy globe, it used to look fine, but somehow corrupted after I messed with the environment settings and triggered the offet UV bugs, may not be related tho.

Hi Jacky,

Please try this:

- click Start
- right-click My Computer
- click Properties
- click Advanced
- click Environment Variables
- make sure there is a variable named MAXWELL_ROOT which points to [ProgramFiles]\Next Limit\Maxwell
- do this for both the user and system level variables

If these variables are not missing when you check, then I would recommend to uninstall/reinstall the .Net Framework 2.0 on your machine.

Thanks,

JD
