Glass and Absorbtion - do it work now?

Hi,
I have try to get a effect of absorbtion like in this photo, thin volumes are brighter than thick. But it dosn't work here in the rendering? I have set the absorbtion of glass from 0.1 to 1, but no effect.

micha, i don't know if it works in rhino but i've tested with max and it worked.
it depends on size but for a reasonable size, 0.95 absorbtion would do fine.

Hmm, I see no effect here.

Looks good. If it is no work for you, you could send me the scene please, so that I can discover it.

the MOST IMPORTANT is to have CORRECT UNITS set (meters). With this glass 'drops' in millimeter scale you can't do any miracles, so check units in rhino (have them 1 meter long)

Thank you, it works fine like in your image.
OK - I test now an absorbance of 0.99, diameter 20 mm and mm units and it works too.

Sorry Cedric, I have edit my previous message in the last minutes, because I have done a mistake with a parameter.
Now, it works. I learned, real glass can have very high absorbance.

I was curious to see the settings but I got this error message and it wouldn't open, otherwise everything works fine!
I wanted to render it and see what it looked like!
don't use my .3ds file without any modification, change Folder in Rhinoll options at least

1 meter is too much. I do not understand.
I did a test with 20mm diameter and it works well.

It is the dielectric material.

Thomas, which absorbance factor do you use?

Micha, the absorbance was 0.99

Just wanting to clarify what it was you did to generate the result you show.
Is it just lighting settings that you have altered?
The shadow cast from your shot is nice.
The shadow comes from an emitter (type A) on the right hand side and it also adds a yellowish tint to the scene.
There is also a weak overhead emitter (type D65)
