I restarted the PC, started Rhino and created a new file.
All objects are assigned a different name.
Materials are being created as plugin - the plane is a diffuse material
the sphere is being assigned aluminium
it doesn't work.....
I can't understand

Try to render a new scene without assign any material, and tell us the result.

I did it and it worked.
Then I set the sky to physical sky, Madrid 1 june 17.30 and the result was a black image.
What should I do now ?
I'm a bit confused, I admit.
I'm working with 3D since 1986, with Rhino since 1995, had a good experience on SolidThinking/PRman on NeXTstep and also have Maya.
So I'm quite surprised to fnd all these difficulties.

pavel59 , can you tell us your camera settings?

What is the name of the viewport you are rendering? It must be named Perspective or else MW won't detect a camera.

all settings were just the standard.
Persp view, 640x480, all other settings left unchanged.
After the first few unsuccessful test I happened in rendering the scene without materials.
After that I assigned aluminium material to a number of surfaces on the same layer, thru the material setting on the layer manager.
And it worked fine.
I suspect something is connected to the way you assign materials.
A bit unusual but I will survive if I can find a logic.
