Shaggy Rug?

Can I make a rug with shag? I have never done hair or fur before, well I guess I have with modo, but the way I understand it, I can't convert that. So is there some way to do it manually with maxwell?

Hello,
Here is a short discussion about similar problem (At the end):

So it is possible to freeze out fur in modo and use that in Maxwell in case the fur is built with cylindrical fiber geometry.

Unfortunately "Bake geometry cache" is broken since Modo 701 SP3 for cylinders (strips is working). Very annoying bug since it is still not fixed in SP5.

Actually this is a good example to show the reason why I don't add normal fur support until we have option for it on the SDK side.
It is possible to do some half-solution (with modo command line options and some hacking), but not possible to do a reliable, decent solution.

Aw man, so basically if I want a shaggy rug, it has to look like grass lol.
Hopefully they figure out the cylinder baking bug

That should not be so difficult since it was working in 701 SP2. I guess they are all working on 801.
