Scene export very slow

Marton i upgraded to modo 601 over the weekend. After installing modo and the plugin i noticed that a scene i had been working on is now taking over 8 minutes to export to maxwell. It was taking less than
2 min prior. All the textures and working files are on my local drive and not on the network. The log file gives me no errors or warnings. The scene DOES export, its just that it is bothersom because as i am not done with the project and the scene will only get bigger, im scared that it will eventaully take a very long time to export if at all. Any suggestion as to why this might be happening? Is thier a way to watch the export as its exporting to see what is hanging up on? im running win 7 64 bit with the latest maxwell and modo plug-in.
Thanks gadzooks

Hello,

Do you use replicators? If yes, is it set to "precise" export mode?

In "precise" mode plugin "asks" modo to generate the scene items from the replicator item, and maybe it takes more time under modo 601. It is just a guess right now, to be sure I should see the scene.

OK, so i went thru the scene and made sure all my replicators were set to fast. Before when I exported (with replicators set to percise) it would hang up at about 85%. With the replicators set to fast it zooms all the way to 97% where it hangs up. So I got to thinking what I changed in the scene since upgrading to 601. The only thing i did was add the new transform map under particle maps which allows me to rotate individual replicators. So i deleted it.......maxwell exported the scene in like 20 sec.!!?? I will share the file with you Marton once I get access to our FTP site. Should be latter on this morning. Do you need textures or just the scene? Thanks Gadzooks

Further investigation on another scene: Marton i have another scene i was working on with 501 same problem......sort of? I have replicators with a transform map like the other scene. If I export the scene with replicators set to PRECISE the scene exports in like 10 sec with the transform map still being used. If I change the replicator to FAST and still use the transform map it hangs up on export??? If I DELETE the transform map it exports in like 1 sec? Marton I think its a correlation between the transform map and the export of replicators? Its funny how leaving the replicators set to PRECISE its a faster export than switching them to FAST on this particular scene?

Marton also maybe feature request? I think it would be helpful to be able to monitor the export as its happening, to be able to see whats causing the slowness. Is it hanging up because its having to load an 8k texture, or is it trying to find a texture buried deep on a network drive somewhere. The log file is helpful but that's only after it exports. I don't even know if this could be done, but i was thinking it would allow me as a end user to better help you diagnose problems?

Hello Gazooks,

Yes, please send me the scene. It would be good to see a simplified version so if you can keep only the relevant items in the scene. Textures are only important if those can change the replicator density, distribution, etc. otherwise I don't think I need them to do the testing.
