Hi everyone,

this topic is for the newly released Maxwell Render plug-in for Side Effects Houdini which is currently in beta stage. The plug-in is free for all existing Maxwell Render 2.x customers and is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 32/64-bit, Mac and Linux 64-bit operating systems.

The Maxwell Render output driver is a SOHO node, that's why it requires a valid Houdini license, doesn't work with the apprentice version.

The plug-in is built for the 11.0.715 daily build. There was a bug in SOHO, the Mantra script was called instead of our script in some cases. Only workaround would have been to modify the Mantra script which we felt too risky. The bug was fixed in 11.0.707, so we released the beta version for daily build. Daily buids change fast and there could be compatibility issues with the new releases, but we have to live with that until a new production build is comig out. If you have any problems using the actual daily build, please let me know and I'm going to update the plug-in asap.

new version of the plug-in is available to download (v1.0 beta 2). It is built for the current Houdini production build (11.0.733).
