I might be wrong, but didn't we have the possibility to force a render size in maxwell settings rather than using the 3d window size?
Doesn't make sense not having it... With AC19 we have tabs with is great just like the internet browsers tabs. I don't want to match my available monitor area to work with the render size...

Have you tried Maxwell Render Settings > Camera > Resolution > Render Size?

Sorry, you are right... I was using (don't know why) the 3D window option!
working as it is supposed even in FIRE
