I noticed sketchup went 64 bit, i'm guessing this is good news for us ? Will the plugin work or will it need to be re-written ?

Indeed it is good news. The plugin does not need to be rewritten just to support 64-bit, but it does need to be compiled for each architecture, and updated to build against the SU2015 bits, as usual.

So, for now, for the Maxwell-Sketchup combo your advise it is better to wait installing SU2015 untill you have the plugin updated as well.

Not sure I understand: it should be fine to install SU2015 side-by-side with other versions, but there is not yet a Maxwell plugin build to use with it. I hope that makes it clear.

tx. I only work in Sketchup in combination with Maxwell. So I will wait.
Do you think SU2015 will allow you to do more with the plugin or has advantages for example in terms of speed ?

It doesn't change much, but it could change some in the future. The plugin's native exporter must soon be rewritten to use a newer API; the existing code is so paranoid about using more memory than absolutely necessary, that it's possible the new code could speed up MXS export somewhat. Maxwell FIRE may also be a bit quicker, since Maxwell x64 runs a bit faster; in a quick benchwell test here on Windows 8.1 x64, I reach SL 8.15 in 1:10 @ benchmark 357.07 using 32-bit Maxwell, and SL 8.38 in the same time, at benchmark 387.85, using 64-bit. This is using the production engine, though; I also ran an informal test of FIRE in the plugin at some point, in draft mode, and it appeared to be on the order of 10% faster on x64, at least with the scene I tested.
