Our firm is using Maxwell 2.7.10 right now and im trying to install it on my machine. I installed Maxwell for SketchUp 8 (render suite) 2.7.10 and Maxwell 2.7.10. I installed Maxwell 2.7.0 then patched it to 2.7.10 then I installed the Sketchup render suite (not sure if any of that matters)

When I open sketchup I get these load errors (it looks like all of these files are where they should be):

Error Loading File C:/Program Files (x86)/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/maxwell/lib/settings.rb
undefined method `user_sketchup_dir' for MX::Dir:ModuleError Loading File C:/Program Files (x86)/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/maxwell/lib/pfire.rb
undefined method `has_key?' for nil:NilClassError Loading File C:/Program Files (x86)/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/maxwell/lib/sfire.rb
undefined method `has_key?' for nil:NilClassError Loading File C:/Program Files (x86)/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/maxwell/lib/observers/appobserver.rb
undefined method `stop_rendering' for MX::PFire:ClassError Loading File C:/Program Files (x86)/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/maxwell/lib/observers/observers.rb

Thanks!

The errors look like there could be components from a more than one version (of the plugin) installed. I would uninstall using add/remove programs, then make sure maxwell.rb and the maxwell folder are deleted from the SketchUp plugins folder, then reinstall. Beyond that, about all I can recommend is trying the current plugin version to see if that experiences any similar issue.

That did it, I didn't realize you had to go in and manually delete the Maxwell folder from the plugins folder if you had an old version.

Thank you sir!

You usually shouldn't have to, but it can become necessary, for various reasons (through freak errors, the use of registry cleaners, etc).
