New plug-in

Any idea when we can expect an updated plug-in with some new features? Would love to see a better interaction of SketchUp materials direct into MXM Editor.

So you know, I really don't ever give dates/timelines on things. In the near term, things will be quieter than they normally would be, because I am rewriting the plugin user interface to eliminate its dependency on Silverlight. So, however not-exciting of a thing that is, it is currently my top priority for this plugin. On the actual topic of the question, though, would you care to elaborate on the nature of the interaction you would like to see?

I would really like to be able to go into the material editor, take a default material created from a SketchUp material and with a single click have it convert into an MXM file and be able to edit it out in the Material Editor. Right now there is not easy workaround for this. You can only load MXMs to replace SU materials. I would like to do the reverse. This is really only one of the critical missing features for users that have the Suite in my opinion. The rest is top notch.
Thanks for your hard work.

For what's it worth, I agree with this request 100%.
Best,
Jason.

Thanks -- what are your thoughts this possible workflow:
- You have the plugin material editor open.
- You select a material that is not MXM-linked.
- You click the MXM button to link the material.
- You click the Edit button (the pencil icon).
However, there is no MXM to edit, so the plugin asks you for a file path, writes the current state of the material to disk as an MXM, links the material to that MXM file, and opens the MXM for editing in MXED.
