Would love to knwo the difference in Sketchup between hide from Camera and hide from View.
Maybe stupid question but I could not find it in the manual.

Hide from View completely hides the object; Hide from Camera only hides it from the camera. The former is the same as 'turning off' the object in Maxwell Studio, while the latter corresponds to the 'Hide from camera' flag found in Studio's Object Parameters panel.

ok tx, superfast respone,
I was looking for a way to have trees cast shadows but without seeing the actual trees in the render. Will try that.
Sometimes its bit difficult to test these options quickly since Fire does not always shows the most recent adjustments without a manual update. Especially minutes before the deadline ..

Mate hide from camera works perfectly for what you are trying to do - I use this consistantly to cast shadows for that leafy feel without the cutouts in view.

what i don't understand is why an object, that is hidden to GI, still reveives shadows...
