Q: Is there IES/EULUMDAT support in the new (2.1) plugin?

Just a simple question ...
Or did I miss something? Could be that there is a way to do this with the scene manager/materials but I couldn't figure it out ...

No, there is no support for IES yet. I am open to suggestions about how you would like to see it implemented. To me, it does not make sense to implement via materials; I am thinking more of a dummy component, which you drag around the scene and position, and which has IES attributes accessible via right-click menu.

I think the ideal would be as an SU dynamic component library.
This would have the proper geometry which matches the IES profile (in order to avoid errors)
One could begin with the ERCO components which are provided.
Or - more elegant - one could make an intelligent RUBY script attached to a dummy compenent.
This would then (as you say) read in the IES profile (via context menu) and then construct the dummy emitter geometry accordingly.
I like your idea of being able to then place it properly in 3D.
This would be fantastic.

Wow I like both of those options! Certainly as you suggest JD via material probably isn't the ideal!
