Hi,

I'm wrapping up my tutorial series on Sketchup Pro 8 over the next week or so and my intentions is to pitch a full length (8+ hours) training series on the Sketchup to Maxwell workflow/plugin.

There's alot of ground I already intend to cover but I was wondering if anybody here had any issues/questions/techniques in particular they would like to see me add to the course outline?

It will likely be about a month before I begin so feel free to post here(or PM me) whatever you have in mind and I'll make an effort to work it into the series.

Best,
Jason.

Mate I'd love to see one on thin SSS materials. Cant seem to get my head around it completely! Though that could be due to the massive increase in time it takes to test. Not sure if it is just me but thin SSS seems to really slow a render.

Funny I've been finding since working with V2 renders seem to take forever once the lights are turned on, I wonder if this could be the huge increase in emitter materials required to create emitter groups, i'd say my renders now have to bake twice as long! ??

Fully agree with the thinSSS. I've had a heck of a time getting consistent results. It would either look good backlit or frontlit but never both. JD helped me out quite a bit and I've got it working better now, but I can't say I fully understand the why's behind the material. I'm speaking particularly about leaves.

I also use thin SSS for things like marble as well, so it can be a versatile tool... the settings are only half the battle -- maps that will look OK for regular BSDF's will simply not look right in thin SSS because we have some extra things to consider.

Not to worry, I will do a whole chapter on thin SSS showing various examples.

Best,
Jason.
